Can my electrical panel handle a Level 2 EV charger?
Most Calgary homes built after 1990 have a 100A or 200A panel that can accept a Level 2 EV charger directly. Older 60A and 100A panels sometimes need a load calculation, a load-management device (so the charger throttles when the dryer or stove is running), or a panel upgrade. Our assessment tells you which path applies before you commit.
Hardwired or NEMA 14-50 outlet — which is better?
Hardwired installs are usually safer for chargers above 32 amps, are required by some manufacturers (e.g. the Tesla Wall Connector at 48A), and qualify for full rebates. A NEMA 14-50 outlet is fine for chargers up to 32A and lets you take the charger with you when you move. We walk you through both during the assessment.

Federal rebates change annually and a few utilities run their own programs.
